This modular joint is a type of expanison joint consisting of several strip seals to overcome larger movements. Usually modular joints are used for movements greater than 100 mm. Modular joints have the characteristic of being closed, making them particularly suitable for bridges with long spans where the possible movement of up to 2 m.
Expansion joints must accommodate the motion generated by concrete shrinkage and creep, shortening of posttensioning, thermal variations, dead and live loads, wind and seismic loads and structural settlements. Shrinkage of concrete, shortening of post-tensioning and thermal variation are generally taken into account explicitly in design calculations.
We accept orders for various sizes and types of expansion joint bridges in large quantities.
