Bridge Bearing Rubber
Methods for performing natural elastomeric or bridge bearing installation work
Rubber bridge bearings or elastomeric bearings are a type of bridge bearing (bridge bearing) which is very simple, economical and easy to install compared to other types of bridge rubber bearings or elastomeric bearings.
Natural Rubber Elastomer Products
This type of support (Bearing Pad) is most often used in bridge construction compared to other types. The principle of operation of rubber bridge bearings or elastomeric bearings is almost the same as for other types of supports.
Simple construction, economical, non-corrosive, easy to install and easy/cheap to maintain are special considerations when choosing this type of tripod. In Indonesia, bridge consultants and contractors are aware of this type of support. The Ministry of Public Works in collaboration with BSN regulates the SNI for rubber bridge bearings or elastomeric bearings by issuing SNI 3967:2008 which regulates the technical data of elastomeric sliding bearings and layered bearings intended for bridge installation. This SNI complies with international standards: AASHTO M 251-06, Standard Specifications for Sliding Bridge Bearings and Laminated Elastomers.
The installed elastomer must be tested in an independent laboratory, both mechanically and as a material test, and must comply with the provisions of SNI 3967-2008 with the provisions for the number of test objects.
There are two types of rubber bridge bearings or elastomeric bearing bridges:
1. Rubber bridge bearing or standard elastomeric bearing bridge
2. Rubber bridge bearings or multi-layered elastomeric bearings Rubber bridge bearing or elastomeric bearing bridge, standard type:
Rubber bridge bearings or elastomeric bearings made of natural rubber or synthetic rubber (eg Neoprene) (Elastomeric Bearings) without thin steel sheet (usually 3 mm thick) inside. This type of support is usually used on bridges with low loads.
Rubber bridge bearings or multilayer elastomeric bearings:
Rubber bridge bearings or elastomeric bearings made of natural rubber or synthetic rubber (such as neoprene) into which thin steel plates (usually 2 mm thick) are inserted. This type of support is usually used on bridges with higher loads. The presence of thin steel plates (minimum 2 plates) can prevent swelling.
The natural elastomer fixing method is as follows:
Installation and placement of Bridge elastomeric rubber shall be clearly indicated on the method of installation and location upon arrival at the job site. Suitable safety equipment should be provided if required. Temporary fasteners must be used to maintain the correct position of the part. The equipment used is: Concrate Mixer and tools.
