The compression seal is a type of expansion joint that is widely applied to bridge and flyover structures. We provide it in several sizes, one of which is the SIG CS70 which offers the following specifications:
- Rubber Width: 70 mm
- Rubber Thickness: 45 mm
- Dilatation range 60 - 60 mm
- Standardization of SNI 1967-2008 & AASHTO
- Material: Natural rubber (NR) & Chloroprene (CR)
The use of compression seals is common in Indonesia. Installed as a rubber seal capable of overcoming the movement produced by concrete shrinkage and creep, shortening of posttensioning, thermal variations, dead and live loads, wind and seismic loads and structural settlements. Concrete shrinkage, post-tensioning shortening, and thermal variations are generally taken into account explicitly in design calculations.
This expansion joint bridge has two types, namely compression seal with armor and compression seal only. The difference between the two is the layer, if the one with armor means that there is a compression seal on the outside. Meanwhile, if the compression seal type only, which is only rubber without any outer armor.
