Elastomeric rubber pads are also widely known by the term rubber bridge bearings. This component plays an important role as a rubber that will channel the girder reaction (bridge support beam) without applying excessive pressure so that it will support the function of the bridge as it should. Mounted under the bridge girder as a bridge support, between the girder and the abutment reduces shear and vibration caused by the bridge load and other movements.
