This elastomer pad is a rubber bearing mounted on the bridge girder as a support, ie between the girder and the abutment reduces shear and vibration caused by the bridge load and other movements. The selection of rubber pads must be adjusted to the project design regarding the model and size, because each size of bridge bearings has its own capacity to withstand the load of the bridge.
These rubber bearings are able to channel the load from the top of the bridge that is being crossed by the load to the bridge pylons so that there is no direct friction or collision between the super bridge structure and the bridge sub structure.
